1st July 2022: Don Bosco High school, Borivli, organised their annual Retreat/ Recollection for the students of std 10th today in the school.
Fr Velasli Bandya, the Vocation Promoter of the Bombay Province along with Fr Joyston Machodo, a newly ordained priest, conducted this session for the Catholic and the non Catholic students of the school. While the Catholic boys had their session in the church the other group had an active session in the AV Hall.
The aim of the recollection/ retreat is to provide the students moment of prayer, reflection and sharing to have a deeper understanding of who they are and find God’s presence in their experiences.
Fr Velasli in his interaction, beautifully emphasised the importance of God in their day to day life. He made them aware of their preoccupation with the material world and how these vices lead them away from the goodness of life. The involvement of students was proof of their interest in the session.
Fr Joyston, in his session with the catholic boys , led the students through a phase of introspection bringing about an awareness of their strong and weak emotions and how to use these strengths for the greater glory of God.
The session for the catholic boys ended with the celebration of the holy mass being celebrated by Fr Johnson and by Fr Velasli.
A sincere word of appreciation to both the fathers for taking time off their busy schedule and being present with us today.
Their insights and inputs will certainly go along way!
