Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Borivli

On 13th September 2025, the students of Std. 9 and 10 from Don Bosco High School, Borivli (W) enthusiastically participated in a Beach Clean-up Drive organized by the school. A total of 26 students took part, comprising 15 boys and 11 girls, along with 4 teachers who accompanied them.

The students reported to school at 8:00 a.m. and, after a short briefing, the group left the campus at 8:15 a.m. They reached Gorai Beach by 9:00 a.m., where they were warmly welcomed by the BMC workers who guided them throughout the activity. To ensure safety and hygiene, every student was provided with gloves and masks.

With great enthusiasm and team spirit, the students began cleaning the beach alongside the BMC staff. They collected plastic bottles, wrappers, discarded thermocol, and other waste items scattered along the shore. During this activity, they witnessed firsthand how human negligence pollutes the environment, harms marine life, and destroys the natural beauty of beaches. The drive helped them understand the urgent need for such clean-up efforts and the role every citizen must play in protecting nature.

By 10:15 a.m., after a productive session, the students were provided with snacks to refresh themselves. Following this, they expressed their happiness at being able to contribute meaningfully to the environment. The group then left Gorai Beach and safely reached back to school by 11:15 a.m.

The students described the drive as a wonderful and eye-opening experience. It not only gave them an opportunity to work together as a team but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility towards keeping our surroundings clean. They returned with pride and determination to continue working towards a cleaner and greener planet.
