76th Republic Day Celebrations at Don Bosco High School

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm at Don Bosco High School and Junior College on 26th January 2025. The event, held on the school premises, was a vibrant tribute to the nation and a reminder of the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

The celebrations began with an impressive Guard of Honour presented by the school’s office bearers . Their disciplined movements and synchronized precision drew admiration from all present, setting the stage for the day’s proceedings.

This year, the school had the privilege of hosting Mr. Ajay Lakra, a dedicated support staff member completing 25 years of service, as the Chief Guest. His selection as the Chief Guest symbolized the institution’s recognition and gratitude for the unsung heroes who contribute significantly to its functioning.

Accompanied by the members of the management , Mr. Lakra proceeded to the flagpole to perform the most awaited moment of the day—the unfurling of the tricolour. As the flag soared high, the crowd stood in rapt attention, saluting the national symbol of freedom and unity. The air resonated with the voices of students, teachers, and parents singing the National Anthem in unison, filling hearts with immense pride and patriotism.

The patriotic spirit was further ignited by melodious patriotic songs performed by the students from the primary and the secondary section. The renditions of these songs celebrated the rich cultural heritage and unity of India, leaving the audience inspired and emotional.

Adding a local touch to the occasion, a student delivered a rousing speech in Marathi, emphasizing the importance of this day and urging everyone to remain loyal to the ideals of democracy. The speech was a heartfelt tribute to the resilience and diversity of the nation.

The Principal, Fr. Flovi D’Souza, then addressed the gathering with his inspiring words. He spoke passionately about the Constitution of India, reminding everyone of their duties as responsible citizens. Fr. Flovi emphasized the importance of respecting the principles of justice, equality, and liberty that form the bedrock of the nation. His speech encouraged the students to uphold these values in their lives and contribute meaningfully to society.

The program concluded with a sense of pride and reverence for the nation. The Republic Day celebrations at Don Bosco High School were a fitting homage to India’s democratic ideals and a call to action for the younger generation to cherish and preserve the legacy of freedom.

It was a day to remember, celebrating not only the Republic of India but also the spirit of unity, responsibility, and progress that defines Don Bosco High School and its community.
