ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS – A NIGHT OF SPLENDOUR AND TALENT

The much-anticipated Annual Day Celebrations of Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Borivli, were held on 1st February 2025, with grandeur and enthusiasm. The evening was a mesmerizing blend of talent, discipline, and creativity, witnessed by a packed audience of over 3000 people, including parents, students, alumni, and distinguished guests.

The Chief Guest, Shri Shyam Jagannathan, IAS officer, and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Ajay Lakra, an esteemed Silver Jubilarian of the institution, graced the occasion with their presence. Their arrival was marked by an impressive Guard of Honour, reflecting the discipline and dedication instilled in the students.

The event commenced on a reverent note with a Prayer Dance, invoking divine blessings for the success of the evening. This was followed by a melodious Welcome Song, setting the stage for the celebrations ahead.

A special Felicitation Ceremony was organized to honour the esteemed guests, acknowledging their contributions to society and their association with the institution. Their inspiring words motivated the students to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.

One of the most awaited segments of the evening was the Prize Distribution and Award Ceremony, where students who had excelled academically were recognized. The rankers and scholarship awardees were felicitated, celebrating their hard work and dedication.

The Junior College students then enthralled the audience with a vibrant World Dance, showcasing cultural diversity through expressive movements and stunning choreography.

An integral part of the evening was the Annual School Report, presented in an engaging manner, highlighting the achievements, initiatives, and progress of the institution over the past year. The report reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education and excellence under the able leadership of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza.

The highlight of the evening was the spectacular musical production – ‘Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves’. With its gripping storyline, dramatic performances, and breathtaking visuals, the show transported the audience into the world of Arabian Nights. The elaborate costumes, dynamic choreography, and seamless coordination among the cast left the audience spellbound. The sheer hard work of the students and teachers, coupled with expert direction and guidance, brought the timeless tale to life on stage in a magnanimous show of creativity and dedication.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to making the event a resounding success. The amazing talent displayed by the students, along with the tireless efforts of the teachers, truly made this Annual Day a memorable and awe-inspiring celebration.
