The English Faculty of Don Bosco High School and Junior College organized its much-awaited English Elocution Competition on 22nd, 25th, and 26th August, providing a vibrant platform for students from Std 5 to Std 10 to showcase their oratory skills.
Categories of Performances
Std 5 & 6 – Students recited humorous poems, keeping the audience entertained with their wit and lively expressions. Judged by Fr. Vishal and Ms. Juliet Lobo, the event highlighted the importance of voice modulation, expression, confidence
Std 7 & 8 – Budding actors performed monologues, reflecting creativity, dramatic flair, and confidence. This segment was judged by Ms. Stella Rebello and Ms. Marina Corda.
Std 9 & 10 – Senior students delivered powerful speeches on thought-provoking themes. Their clarity of thought and stage presence left a lasting impression. The judges for this category were Ms. Marina Corda and Ms. Esmeralda Coutinho.
The students were assessed on various parameters, including:
Pronunciation and clarity
Expression and voice modulation
Confidence and body language
Content and creativity
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation across all grades. The humorous poems brought laughter, the monologues showcased emotional depth, and the speeches reflected maturity and conviction. The judges commended the students for their preparation, presentation, and courage to perform on stage.
The English Elocution Competition 2025 was a grand success, igniting in students a love for public speaking and strengthening their confidence. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes, but every participant left with the invaluable experience of learning and growth.
