A Heartfelt Farewell to the Batch of 2025
The 25th of January 2025 marked an emotional and memorable day for Don Bosco High School and Junior College as 108 students from Std. 10 bid adieu to their cherished Alma Mater. The farewell ceremony, held with much grandeur and warmth, was a blend of nostalgia, gratitude, and best wishes for the future.
The program began with an impressive entrance by the outgoing batch. As the students walked down the aisle, their teachers stood on either side, showering them with flowers, symbolizing blessings for a bright future. This heartwarming gesture set the tone for the day.
The ceremony officially commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, signifying the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge. This was followed by a solemn and meaningful prayer service, invoking God’s blessings upon the students as they embarked on a new chapter of life.
Fr. Rector then addressed the gathering with his wise and inspiring words. He encouraged the students to carry forward the values they had imbibed at Don Bosco and to face life’s challenges with courage and integrity.
The atmosphere soon became lively as a series of cultural performances unfolded. Melodious songs and energetic dance performances captivated everyone’s hearts, with the highlight being a delightful “lazy dance” that brought smiles to all faces. The students relived their journey through a heartwarming video presentation of old memories, showcasing snapshots of their school life—an emotional trip down memory lane.
Adding to the entertainment, a vibrant musical presentation by the school choir left everyone mesmerized. The grand finale of the cultural program featured the School Captain’s final speech. Filled with gratitude and wisdom, the speech resonated deeply with all present, as the Captain reflected on the lessons learned and the bonds forged over the years.
This was followed by a touching thank-you speech by Shravani Karangutkar, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire batch to the teachers, school staff, and management for their unwavering guidance and support.
The students were then presented with personalized mementoes, a token of love and remembrance from their school. Fr. Principal addressed the gathering with a heartfelt speech, encouraging the students to dream big and remain rooted in the values of Don Bosco.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Secondary Supervisor, Mrs. Charusheela Pujare, who acknowledged the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the program.
The celebration ended on a cheerful note with a sumptuous lunch. It was a day filled with blessings, emotions, and goodbyes, as the students left the school premises for the last time as students, carrying with them a treasure trove of memories and the blessings of their mentors.
The farewell to the batch of 2025 was not just a goodbye; it was a heartfelt promise that the Don Bosco spirit would continue to guide them as they stepped into the world beyond the school gates.
