Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Borivli

22nd August 2022: It was a day of joy and blessings as the Regional Councillor for the South Asian Region, Rev Fr Biju Michael, visited our institution and spent the day with the staff and the students.
What a joyous occasion it was as the students of the DB Educational Complex put up a fantastic program in his honour.
The event began with the guard of honour leading the dignitaries to the school hall on the beats of dhols. It was a beautiful sight to see the girls of the middle school dressed up in set sarees, standing along the aisle, showering petals of roses on the guest and the dignitaries, as they entered the venue. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was followed by the Rector, Rev Fr Solomon Rapol, gifting a lit candle to Rev Fr Biju as a symbol of the legacy of Don Bosco.
The Rector then officially welcomed and introduced The Regional Councillor to the staff and the students. The Welcome song and the welcome dance brought out the spirit of the school and the students. The cultural dance by the girls of the secondary and the song and dance performance by the junior college enthralled all.
It was then time for the man himself!
The students were all rapt with attention as Fr Biju spoke to them. Having shared the greetings of the Rector Major, Fr Biju expressed his feelings about the school and through a very apt example of the balloons urged the students to be like those colourful balloons that will absorb all the positive qualities that the world has to offer and sour high up in the sky of success and at the same time be grounded.
The Principal, Rev Fr Flovi D’Souza, through his vote of thanks, acknowledged the contribution of all the teachers who made the event a very happy and a pleasant one for all.
Following the school program, Fr Biju gave a short conference to the teachers of the school
and the college where he brought the vision of Don Bosco to the forefront. He told the teachers to be prompt in their vocation unfolding the true potential of every child – That we treat our students as students and not merely subjects.
And very importantly give wings to the dreams of the poor and the marginalised children, that they maybe able to fly high and make their dreams come true.
The meeting ended with group picture with Rev Fr Biju for a lasting memory of his visitation.
We, at Don Bosco Borivli, wish him a happy and a pleasant stay here in India and ask the Almighty’s blessings on all his endeavours ahead.
