Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

To commemorate 75 years of India’s independence and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements, Don Bosco High School Borivli had a grand ceremony on the 15th of August 22 in the school hall.

The high school and the junior college students along with the management and staff witnessed the celebrations. The event was graced by Dr Deepak Hinde, PSI – Borivli Police Station, who chaired the program as the Chief Guest for the day. In his address to the students, he emphasised on the importance and contributions of every individual in making India a dream Country! He also exhorted the students to strive hard in their studies kyuki “ Jab Padega India tabhi toh badhega India.”
It was a week long festivity as the students across the different sections participated in varied competitions organised to highlight the sacrifices made by the great leaders and the humble civilians to see a free India. The speeches, the songs and the dances were simply fantabulous adding to the grandiosity of the act thereby arousing a deep and intense patriotic spirit in the hearts of those gathered .
Fr Flovi, the principal, eloquently brought out a profound belief- An individual dies for an idea, and after his death, the idea is rekindled in the hearts of the millions. He concluded by urging the students to live the ideals of those great individuals who shed their blood for the cause of this great country.

Jawaharlal Nehru in his speech said- At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”
Let us all, therefore, pledge to strive to protect the peace, diversity, harmony, and unity of this great nation.
